We’re absolutely delighted to announce that at the 2016 course (31 July – 4 August 2016) we will be expanding from keyboards and woodwinds into the world of classical strings. At least one member of Ensemble DeNOTE (Ruth Alford – our cellist whose family hails from nearby Stokesley) will be participating as a tutor for classical strings. We’ve managed to acquire a set of classical bows for our education work and will be bringing these to the course. While experienced classical string players are welcome, we hope this will also be of interest to ‘modern’ players interested in gaining an understanding of approached to period performance through classical string instruments, set ups and playing styles. Pre-formed chamber groups also welcome. Repertoire: Haydn – Beethoven Op.30. Do please spread the word! Information on the 2016 course from James Brookmyre (firstname.lastname@example.org).
