How do you get to Lythe?
Getting to Lythe from London is wonderfully straightforward (though it does involve 2 trains and 2 buses!)
TRAIN from London King’s Cross –York – Scarborough – Whitby – Lythe
You will leave from London King’s Cross and travel to York (2 hours).
TRAIN from York to Scarborough (35 minutes) and then upon arrival in Scarborough station you will see the bus stop, and it is from this stop that you will need to catch the X93 bus to Whitby (journey lasts around 1 hour, and the bus terminates here before moving onto Middlesborough, so you’ll know when you have arrived). Then, catch the number X4 bus from the same bus stop to Lythe (15 minute journey), leaving Whitby at 02 and 32 minutes past each hour.
TRAIN from London King’s Cross – Darlington – Middlesbrough- Lythe
You will leave from London King’s Cross and travel to Darlington (2.5 hours).
TRAIN from Darlington to Middlesbrough (30 minutes), and then upon arrival in Middlesbrough catch the X4 bus to Whitby, which stops outside the Village Hall in Lythe (journey time is about 90 minutes), leaving Middlesbrough at 10 and 35 minutes past the hour.
